Will solar work at my place in December?

Solar cameras are easy in July. The real test is the darkest month. Enter your town and we use NASA's long-term sunlight records for your location to show whether a solar camera will stay charged through winter.

How this works: sunlight figures are NASA POWER long-term monthly averages (all-sky, flat surface), which already include typical cloud. We apply a 65% real-world loss for wiring, dirt, snow haze and the charge controller, plus a rule-of-thumb adjustment for how the panel is placed. Daily camera energy use is a ballpark for each activity level, not a measurement of a specific model. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Your town name is sent to the free Open-Meteo place search and your coordinates to NASA POWER to look up sunlight; we don't store either.
